Planar Near-Field Antenna Measurements Using Nonideal Measurement Locations¤

چکیده
The standard planar near- eld to far- eld transformation method requires data points on a planerectangular lattice. In this paper we introduce a transformation algorithm in which measurements are neither required to lie on a regular grid nor are strictly con ned to a plane. Computational complexity is O (N logN), where N is number of data points. (Actual calculation times depend on the numerical precision speci ed and on the condition number of the problem.) This algorithm allows e¢cient processing of near- eld data with known probe position errors. Also, the algorithm is applicable for other measurement approaches, such as plane-polar scanning, where data are collected on a nonrectangular grid. Keywords: near- eld antenna measurements; planar scanning; plane-polar scanning; probe position errors

متن کاملNear-field Error Analysis for Arbitrary Scanning Grids Using Fast Irregular An- Tenna Field Transformation Algorithm
An extensive error analysis for arbitrary near-field antenna measurements is performed. Expressions are derived to estimate the far-field uncertainty using the available near-field data together with the measurement inaccuracy but, most importantly, without the knowledge of the reference far field. Error analysis techniques presented so far either assume a specific set of antennas or a specific...
متن کاملA Brief History of the Development of the Near-Field Measurement Technique at the Georgia Institute of Technology
The activity of the Georgia Institute of Technology in the development of the near-field measurement technique is reviewed. The work conducted during the years 1967-1973 is given primary importance, and the major near-field developments in the 1973-1980 time period are also briefly described. HE GEORGIA Institute of Technology has historically T had a strong interest in antenna measurement tech...
متن کامل1985 NF Test Facility
Near-field ranges operate by measuring the electromagnetic field near the antenna and then mathematically transforming the data to any arbitrary location. Near-field operations are a form of microwave holography. The wave front measurements are normally made on a planar, spherical or cylindrical surface. This paper discusses primarily the planar configurations as used in the measurement of larg...
متن کاملUWB Planar Conical Horn-Shaped Self-Complementary Bow-Tie Antenna
An ultra-wideband (UWB) self-complementary planar bow-tie antenna (SCPBTA) is proposed. The antenna consists of a printed conical horn-shaped (CHS) radiator and a counterpart CHS slot etched on a rectangular ground plane. The printed CHS radiator is connected directly to the 50Ω microstrip line by bending the end portion of the feed line. As a result, the antenna has a simple structure which do...
